Day 3: Tiananmen Square & Flight to Chongqing

Our morning started with another wonderful breakfast buffet.  Picture a breakfast plate with pancakes beside a pile of lo mein.  I am loving breakfast!

We met our guide for the day, Flora, and headed to Tiananmen Square.  Our hotel was only about a 15 minute walk from there.  But it was cold!  We were freezing!  So we made our stop there pretty quick.  Matt took a lot of fun pictures today, but he wants to edit them before I share them so you'll have to wait to see most of them.  But here we are -

After some Chinese lunch at one of the near-by malls, we went back to the hotel to rest for about 2 hours before heading to the airport.  Flora took us to the airport and got us checked in to her flights before we said goodbye.  Our flight from Beijing to Chongqing was actually not too pleasant.  We were waiting on the runway for 45 minutes before taking off, which was tough on the girls.  The flight itself was about 2.5 hours.

Our Chongqing guide, Michael met us at the airport and took us to our hotel.  It is such a nice hotel and we are very happy to be here.  The girls fell asleep in the van on the way from the airport to the hotel.  Sweet girls were so tired!

So we go to sleep tonight and tomorrow, we meet Jack!  And he is with us from then on.  Our little buddy is spending his last night as an orphan tonight.  And our lives are about to change forever!  Please pray for us over the next 24 hours.  We meet Jack while you guys are sleeping Sunday night.
